Upcoming show buzz...

So, I'm listening to Stars for the first time. This stuff feels pretty Death Cab/Postal Service-ish (crossed with B&S), with a chick harmonizing/singing sometimes…nice.

Stars is playing with Broken Social Scene.

In other news, the Black Cat manager guy thinks Stellastarr* will get close to selling out.

Well they have not announced a show yet, but I have listened to the new Shearwater album almost once a day since I got it a couple of weeks ago. They are supposed to be playing at Common Grounds with Okkervil River this SummerIt probably does not appeal to most board members tastes, but below are a couple of links to mp3s from the album which is called Winged Life.

I can't stop listening to the Stars album. I am really looking forward to seeing them live! Even more so than BSS.

Where were you when I first mentioned this band and was met with indifference back in October?

I heard them on KEXP and liked quite a bit. Was in a thrift store in Brooklyn a couple of weeks later, and saw a copy sitting there for $2.98. Liked it even more once I heard the whole thing.

Does anybody know if Broken Social Scene/Stars/Dears is going to sell out? I'd like to go, but I don't plan to be in the BlackCat area before then, and don't like Ticketmaster much.

That's a damn good question.

Then you have three options…1) suck it up and buy the ticket via TM; 2) get a friend to pick up the ticket if they're attending a BC show or 3) show up the night of the show and hope tickets are still available.

is the last enon album really as horrible as people tell me? high society was awesome, but if they are only the opener, and are playing mostly a shit record, i don't know if i am down

It means you don't have to wait the two hours for the ticket dude to show up at the front door….or the another two hours for him to go get your tickets.

We got a ticket girl when we went the other day.
And I must say, she was much more pleasant to look at that than the ticket dude.
