how likely is that to sell out tonight?
Grandaddy
I dunno, but I am PSYCHED that they go on before STD. I wasn't happy about having to sit there the whole time for that. Should be good, I love those guys…mmmmm…Burtch :)
Is Saves the Day worth hanging around for? What are they like? I'm just going for Grandaddy…
Grandaddy barely playing 1 hour… this tour sucks.
For what I have heard on their website, Saves the day seem to be awfully bad.

I know Barcelona…barely an hour indeed! That ticket price is steep, but hey, maybe the opening bands will be good. Guess I'll have to wait and see.
i think alot of us who would want to see grandaddy are goin' to decemberists–
remember, many of us missed the decemberists last time around to see the belle & sebastian show.

I don't know much about STD. I checked out some stuff on their website and it sounded like pretty disposable emo-rock. Like bad Jimmy Eat World.
But the second opener, Fire Theft, is made up of members of Sunny Day Real Estate and Foo Fighters…but sound *nothing* like either band. I think they'll appeal to Grandaddy fans. I suggest going early to see Fire Theft and leave during STD.
And….ANY Grandaddy is good Grandaddy. I'll take an hour.

You obviously haven't slept around much?
When I was like 8 or something, there was a commercial for STD prevention that had a little jingle that went, "It's the Number One fact of life, VD gets around". I would go around singing it cluelessly, and couldn't figure our why my singing it bothered my mom so much.

I've heard good things about Dios. They're like a trippy surf band or something. The Fire Theft should be a good show. Grandaddy will rock. And then I'm going home.
No way Saves the Day should be headlining… but then again… I'm glad they are, because I can leave early.

I read somewhere that Grandaddy and Saves the Day would decide who would headline based on the popularity of both bands in each city. I hope they change their mind for tonight and we have at least 90 minutes of Grandaddy. Ot would be nice if they started with "Levitz" and played "Ok with my decay". And if Kosmo allows them to do so, a little bit of Charles Chaplin between bands would be great; what they did between Super Furry Animals and Grandaddy last time was excellent.
the current word from the home office is that grandaddy and saves the day are taking care of the music before and between their sets… i'm the "opening act"

Good show last night…I was impressed with Dios (great cover of "Where Is My Mind?" by the Pixies, I thought the Fire Theft were OK. Turns out I have hung out with one of the guitarists on a few occasions, did get a chance to say hello to him. Grandaddy were a lot of fun, though, just too bad their set was only 55 minutes. I have the setlist at home, have to say I was surprised with the songs they picked to play. It was great to hear "Velouria", another Pixies cover! They're a bit tighter than the last time I saw them…Grandaddy are a fantastic opening band, I wish they'd be playing at Coachella because they'd be great there. Anyone else go? Thoughts?
