Gomez?

Anyone going to see Gomez on 1/22? I'm thinking of going to see them, both because I like their music, but more importantly I like their name!

I really like them. I thought their show last time was one of the best of the year. I cant wait.
Is it or will it be sold out? I'm thinking of popping in for just Gomez…
I dont think any of their previous shows sold out, although the last on might have on the night. I dont have my tickets yet either, but I was going to get them tonight.
it doesn't seem to be… I'm kind of a last minute person when it comes to ticket buying so I hope it won't :D
I will be there. Their last show was excellent!
Whats up with the alternate dimension bboard Doom? Some of the same folks from here. I should talk, I'm trying to do the same thing. It's hard to be two places at once.
Gomez was brilliant last year and I can't wait to see them again. It did sell out the night of the show.

I still don't understand all of the criticism about these guys.
allmy$to930 , you have the best name on the board, in my opinion.

When do we think Gomez would go on – weekday show with one opener. Probably 10, right?

PS, the 'best' description of these guys would be cool. I'm gonna see if I can sell it as a "pre-WSC" show.
Thanks.

I would guess they go on at 10. They played a really long set last year.

I think this does more justice than pitchfork:

Amazon says:

Since their Mercury Prize-winning 1998 debut, Bring It On, this self-produced five-piece have created their own rules. Gomez are a unique band–they have three distinctive vocalists in Ben Ottewell, Ian Ball, and Tom Gray, and an ever-fizzling chemistry where every member is made to count. The resulting emotional and musical palette is vast, encompassing epic grandeur and lucid intimacy, tenderness and anger. A quick check of their armory reveals Beefheart-ian blues, a beautifully cantankerous horn section, mariachi melodies, euphoric harmony vocals, blasting hip-hop beats, slide guitar that sounds like it's come up the Mersey via the Mississippi–and that's just for starters. –Gavin Martin
