this thread is a hate crime.

While it is pretty depressing, a lot of it is said in humor. Tonight at the show Jay even laughed at some of his own lyrics. I had a great time at the concert, and I am by no means a depressed emo guy. Anyways, that's just my 2 cents.

Btw, the crowd loved the show.

This artist, like Jack Johnson, reminds me of every douche bag back in college with an acoustic guitar. They remind me of the retard on the staircase who gets his guitar smashed by Bluto in Animal House. Please America, don't buy.

wow, that's harsh. don't get the jack johnson comparison at all. rather subdued, melancholy guy with a guitar, i'd compare him to beth orton circa trailer park.

maybe he has some crazy media overexposure that i'm unaware of, but it was a chill singer/songwriter show.

for sure there are worse acts out there that are more deserving of your hate. let this cat slide.

I'll admit, I don't know jack about this guy's music, and I'm probably not even going to listen, but I have two questions:

1) Is this the "gay-friendly" artist that people are all hot for?

I admit I know little about him. I've only heard a few things from him.

If he's not a serious artist, the joke's on me.

I love Trailer Park. Its a fairly innovative album (for 10 years ago, or whatever) by someone with unique vocals who writes great lyrics. This guy just seemed, to me, like another douche bag with an acoustic guitar. He just sounds like your typical acoustic guitar artist. Maybe I'm missing something.
