Are absolute SHITE ! ! Did anyone else see them last night on that debacle of Fox?

Please tell me that was a bad performance by them, because I can't believe any of you lot would go for that crap.

(I'm on about the band, not the footballer.)

Rooney opened for someone I went to see but can't remember who. (Was it Travis?) All I remember were screaming teenage girls around me. I found the band to be unremarkable (and somewhat boring) but not offensive.

yes it was travis, and rooney were shite, looked like the monkees but didnt have the talent.

They did look like the Monkees! I just remember thinking, "Why are these girls going crazy over these boys? They have no sex appeal whatsoever and their musical talents are barely there."

We call it the Mid West because of the East Coast bias that Venerable already alluded to.

As for Rooney, I agree that they are crap and they were only on the show because of their hollywood family ties (the same reason why Phantom Planet do the theme song - Jason Schwartman of Rushmore fame was (is?) the drummer and his brother is the lead singer of Rooney). It was a funny episode though and the beginning of the downfall of the character formerly known as Luke.

Smackette on the other hand will take you outside for bad mouthing Rooney. Inexplicably, she loves them (and I must admit that I do find one tune catchy). She begged me to go to the show on the 11th when I'm in DC, but I have convinced her that it doesn't fit in my schedule. Thankfully.

Will you be taking your daughter?

Jason Schwartzman was in Phantom Planet, not Rooney. Only his brother is in Rooney.

I saw them in NYC and Philly last year when they opened for Pete Yorn. I now believe there is such a thing as being too poppy. But yeah, the younger chicks love 'em.

Couldn't agree more, bollocks. Rooney is total crap. I hated them the first time I listened to them and then gave them a second chance when I read that Johnny Ramone was a fan and they sucked even worse.

Yeah, they went on 45 min. early, so, I missed them. I've heard their name quite a bit. From what you guys say, sounds like it's okay I ran late to that show.
