Ted Leo - Silver Spring, MD

there's a show at the silver theater in silver spring, MD. it's free with: let's rock again film.

does anyone know what this is?

june 18th, btw
Without looking anything up, I would hazard a guess that it is part of the Silverdocs Documentary Film Festival. Last year, there was a street fair. The show could be part of that or actually accompany the screening? I will check into it. I am sure we will be hearing a lot about Silverdocs in the upcoming weeks.
My guess is that it's a screening of the film Justin Mitchell (director of songs for Cassavetes and fellow ND alum) made of Ted's set at the Siren Fest; there's a dvd put out by plexifilm . Maybe he's playing, although he could just be there for Q and A for the screening. Hopefully the former for those that will be here.

He's playing the next night in Chicago with Fountains of Wayne and since I'll be there this weekend I'm hoping to go to that show (also free).
So far, they only have tickets for this film on Thursday, June 17 at 2:30pm.

Let's Rock Again

Synopsis:
A poignant look at the late Joe Strummer¹s last tour with The Mescaleros. Strummer will always be remembered as the heart and soul of the Clash, and his warmth and generosity come shining through in his friend Dick Rude¹s debut documentary.
According to the Ted Leo website, the performance is taking place at 7pm on 6/18 and it's free.
More info on Silverdocs can be found here. Hopefully, I will make it to more screenings this year. The lineup looks good.
so I guess ted leo's rocking his set from 7-9pm and then the outdoor screening of let's rock again follows his set?

sounds cool.
actually here's how it's gonna go. mary timony is gonna play at 7:30. french toast is gonna play at 8:15. the documentary will be screened at 9. then teddy ballgame and the rx are gonna rock it starting at 10:30. it's all free and it's goes down at the silver plaza, which is right behind the afi silver theatre. you'd be very silly to miss this.
So who's going to this? I will hopefully be in attendance. The price is right.
i'll be out of town, otherwise i would soooo be there
I'll probably be there. I'd feel silly for missing this, since I live in Silver Spring.
Is this thing easy to get to via metro?

How are you going, Thirsty?
Actually, I might wind up being there as well. Plans seem to have changed slightly for Friday night.
A few turns of the crank and the jalopy runs like a dream…

Take red line to Silver Spring. Here's a little map of where it's located. Looks like you have to walk north up Colesville to Georgia.

i just felt a little sick
The first, only, and last time I had Tastee Diner food was after seeing the Cows at the Black Cat. That was the longest drive of my life getting BACK to college.

Will the booze be flowing?

Should I metro it or drive?
Doubtful on the alcohol outside, but the AFI does sell wine and beer inside.

Parking is available at the Lee Building for $3, but Metro may be easier.
