One of you has got to know why

I could do a search on the internet, but I don't think that would be quite as fun as hearing others takes on it.
Why do public toilets have the U-shaped seat while toilets in homes have the full circle?

I always assumed it was because, with the male tendency to miss the mark, the front of the toilet gets pee on it all the time. I dont know why the U-shape would be beneficial, but that's my guess.

I think he's right. I remember being in a bar and the mens was out of order so we had to use the ladies and they're tiolet seat was not u-shaped. I asked the group I was with when I got out and the consensus was that men are pigs and miss the mark. Ladies, on the other hand, do not miss.
Ladies, is this right? Your toilet seats are not u-shaped?

actually, i have been in public restrooms where ladies, apparently, have managed to miss. that is where the nifty toilet seat covers come in handy.

I think the drippage issue is the reason for the U-shaped seat.
On a similar note….why don't they install urinals in residential bathrooms? If I ever remodel ours you can bet we'll have one.

It so that the seat is more aerodynamic and has less wind drag when quickly flipping the seat up with your shoe.

Why is the handle to flush a toilet on the right, so that when you are facing it you flush with your left hand??? Except for lefties, wouldn't it make more sense to have it on the other side?
Mind you, having it on the side it is has helped me hone my left foot skills for footie when using a public bog.

heh. I used the Black Cat potty this weekend & the toilet seat was completely saturated, so I was forced to hover, and I noticed on the door someone had written something like "I'm too drunk to hover" or something like that. I chuckled. and ps I think most toilets are u-shaped even in the ladies rooms

For a while, I hypothesized that expensive restaurants might have the full oval seat and that bars and clubs wouldn't. Then I went to a few expensive places and found that the seats were U-shaped.

Maybe the reason for the U-shaped toilets seats is discrimination.
The round type just may not work for guys with extra big balls. Hence, use of the round one in public toilets would be discrimination against the big ball boys of the world.
