the square root of the shins + the derivative of my morning jacket = pi / 6.02 x 10 ^23 band of horses

Thanks for your assessment. To me they sound more like Built to Spill than Shins or MMJ, but I don't know you came up with those bands…maybe reading too much of pitchforkmedia? (surprise, surprise). Who cares if it's derivative? Isn't MMJ a derivative of…Neil Young and Crazy Horse??!

Looking forward to what you guys think of them prior.

vansmack, I'll be in the SF area during that week :) Wish I can see them again Oct 4th as I miss the Fillmore, but I might go to Art Brut Oct 2nd..

Only been to Mezzanine and it's one of the worst I've ever been to. Expect the headliner to go on around 11:30 or midnite on a WEEKDAY!

I bought an advanced copy of their album at Soundgarden yesterday for a dollar. What a waste of a dollar.

Really? I love their older EP's, but I just heard an advance too of one of the songs they re-worked for the album and I'm NOT sure I like it. I hope the album does not blow. That's disappointing to hear.

I might try to catch some of Band of Horses if the Zero 7 show at the 9:30 Club ends a little on the early side. Doubtful. I'm kind of bummed. I really wanted to see both of these shows. There's an outside chance I might sell my Zero 7 ticket and go see Band of Horses instead.
