Interesting new concert notification service at
http://www.showaholic.com/ Here's how they describe themselves
"You may never miss a show again. Showaholic is a web-based service that tracks and anticipates live music in your city. Just enter the city you live in and a list of the bands you like and let Showaholic do the rest!"
You can even let it import your last.fm profile to generate suggestions.
I did note and have passed along to them that they need to fix some of their addresses. i.e. The Black Cat has relocated to SE

it'll be interesting to see how many shows they recommend in NY. Ill try it out but my concert calendar is a nightmare already. <edit> a bit disappointing for New York. The only shows that really came up were all at The Bowery or bigger places and were bigger shows. Maybe if I add in a bunch of obscure bands, Ill have better luck, but so far not so great. Maybe it works better for smaller cities without so many venues/choices.
