When you get XM, this runs through your regular stereo system? So I can audiotape things the way I audiotape the radio?
Question on XM

www.xmfan.com (no "s")
WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, EL TEE – I went to that first site and there was nothing there! Geez, get it right already, like I have TIME to mess around with mistakes..?!?
;) kidding; thanks lots for the recommendation.

(I can assist more after today…gotta get downtown to see Dylan before he goes to bed. I do feel bad sending you to a site to search for what you need.)
you're CRAZY. Thanks for the help…the site just may push me into XM territory. ;)
You only need to set your XM to the frequency 88.1 on your radio and still have your other presets, you change your XM stations on the XM apparatus you buy.
Does XM have in-studio gigs or something? If you don't mind me asking, what is it you're looking to record?
I swear by the Delphi "roadie", with the fm transmitter thingie that needs to be purchased seperately. It comes with a cassette tape adapter doo-hickey, but who has cars with cassette players these days? Come on!! 8-track in the trunk too?
The roadie is a piece of cake to install too.

Originally posted by Skeeter:I've got both CD and cassette. Use the cassette for my iPod converter, and the occasional book on tape on LONG road trips (which you can check out of the library…don't have many books on CD yet).

Maybe we can pitch in and rent the space for a BigYawn event.
Dimensions: 25 x 40 feet studio, 23 x 20 control room
Capacity: 50 people, including up to a 40-piece orchestra
Uses: Live performances, recordings for record labels and XM shows, mixing, remastering. Available for rental.
Character: The studio has a warm signature sound, simulating a chamber concert hall. The control room is a "zero-environment" space.

xmfan used to be good, but there was schism of sorts between the guy who did all the work and the guy who owns the URL.
it's really a sad shell of itself now. The real deal is now at www.xm411.com The owner of that site also operates an online store and is ultra knowledgable about all kinds of hardware and install questions.

Originally posted by Bags:Yes. It plugs into your home stereo like any other component. You can plug it into any AUX, TAPE, CD, TUNER, or anything else other than PHONO. You can also plug the audio output using 1/8 mini stereo connections. If you want to be an audio geek and need overkill, there's a place you can get the unit modified to an optical output.
