Question on XM

When you get XM, this runs through your regular stereo system? So I can audiotape things the way I audiotape the radio?

You only need to set your XM to the frequency 88.1 on your radio and still have your other presets, you change your XM stations on the XM apparatus you buy.

Does XM have in-studio gigs or something? If you don't mind me asking, what is it you're looking to record?

I swear by the Delphi "roadie", with the fm transmitter thingie that needs to be purchased seperately. It comes with a cassette tape adapter doo-hickey, but who has cars with cassette players these days? Come on!! 8-track in the trunk too?

The roadie is a piece of cake to install too.

Yep! Just had Wilco on this last week, which was great for Wilco fans and gave me the opportunity to scan other channels for a change.

xmfan used to be good, but there was schism of sorts between the guy who did all the work and the guy who owns the URL.

it's really a sad shell of itself now. The real deal is now at www.xm411.com The owner of that site also operates an online store and is ultra knowledgable about all kinds of hardware and install questions.

Yes. It plugs into your home stereo like any other component. You can plug it into any AUX, TAPE, CD, TUNER, or anything else other than PHONO. You can also plug the audio output using 1/8 mini stereo connections. If you want to be an audio geek and need overkill, there's a place you can get the unit modified to an optical output.
