This will date me for sure but when I saw Devo at the Tower Theater in Philly on December 30, 1978 it cost $6.50 ! Duty Now For the Future, baby ! David Johansen was the opening act.
Devo
same here in detroit around the same time…

fuck this man.. i had to miss Devo when they played Central Park in 2004 by a mere few hours. Stellastarr and Yeah Yeah Yeahs were also on that bill.. would have been a good show. I did get into manhattan just in time to see Suicide at the knit that night though.. which owned my soul.
When are the Devo tickets at the 9:30 suppose to go onsale?

Besides, it's 2005; the whole purpose of them touring is to make a quick buck. Don't give in. It's not the real thing anymore anyway.
This is a message to the Owners/Managers/Ticket Pricers of 9:30!
Please lower the ticket prices of the DEVO concert I have been to a plenty o' concerts at your fine establishment, but have not had to pay $55 I have had to pay service charges but that I can deal with if Devo ticket prices are a bit lower so that students like me can afford to go and see a great event such as this!!
Thanks!

Bumbershoot is great but to compare the 930 Club to an abridged arena show in Seattle is nuts. Actually my friend is flying from Seattle to DC for this one. Can't wait. Cheers, T
They only had a handful of good songs off of their two or three good albums from the early 80's. An abridged show should be perfect.

good thing the show wont be littered with casual fans then…
Every Devo album since 1981 has received less than three stars on allmusic.com. Are the critics that off?

When is the club going to book Deva, the all-female Devo tribute band?
Originally posted by Charlie Nakatestes, Japanese Golfer:Devo did indeed lose steam mid-career, being jerked around by the record industry can do that. but uneven Devo records still outshine crapola by Smashmouth, Killers, and Olds 97. besides a bargin Devo show will most likely not include the films, etc the band will surely have at a club/theater show.

So isn't paying $55 probably about $35 too much given their 25 year slump?

So, anyone hear anything about Saturday the 13th of August?
Originally posted by Charlie Nakatestes, Japanese Golfer:I don't understand…if it's a show you wouldn't even consider going to, why do you care how much it costs? I don't go on and on about the apparent value of a Wilco or Robbie Fulks show…
