930 F Street FILM.

I've not seen the film yet and am thinking about going tomorrow night (Friday 1 July). The free anniversary t-shirt sounds awesome, too!
First question: Anyone else on the board going? I'd be there by myself but hope to hang out with some people there. :)
Second question: What TIME does the film start? I didn't see that info. on the 9:30 home page.
Last question: How LONG is the film?
Thanks for any replies!
Cheers
DJ Medusa.

Yeah, I'm thinking of going too. I wonder how early we have to get there for the shirt?! We should all meet up though.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to cancel out - turns out they need a DJ tonight at Zucchabar so I am filling in (see other post of mine on here).
It'll be NO COVER all night, so if any of you want to stop by, that'd be great! I'll be there from 9 p.m. - 2.30 a.m.
Cheers

:( I want a t-shirt so badly, but I can't make it by the club. Saw the flick, though. See other threads for reviews, which are all over the map but I enjoyed it immensely.

Well, they didn't have T-Shirts, but this one guy told me they would be available some time next week at the box office if you have this note that they gave you at the door.
The film was quite okay, but they screwed it at the end - or was it planned ? - cause suddenly, in the middle of a sentence, it started over again and then there were the credits and everyone was leaving.
If anyone saw me, I was the girl with this handwritten Modest Mouse T-Shirt (you wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death).

Thank you Seth for turning the lights on tonight; turning up the air-conditioning; paying the staff; and making a slow night for us alien kids happen…It was a lovely night; the film was fabulous, the history I shared with fellow guests was magic , and finally - I want that freekin' t-shirt. I am sorry you ran out so early: I saw one from the earliest arrivals..I will ask my heirs to bury me (in about 100 years) in that shirt. .PLEASE order more; it's fabulous. BTW: Bags: I got a "coupon" for you too…(and Seth: Free is not cool; I promise: I drank - and paid for - SOOOOO many cocktails - I'm sure it doesn't show in this message….

Yeah. Thanks a lot. I really enjoyed the movie and atmosphere Friday night (and the shirt). Although I had never been to the club, I thought the movie did a good job showing how it really was place in DC that brought together a lot of interesting people. I really liked seeing how much the people who worked there were really personally vested in the club and enjoyed as much, or more than the patrons. I've always loved the new 930. Coming from Boston I always thought that being an asshole was SOP for working in a music club. I was so shocked to when I came to DC three years ago and found set times posted on the internet and outside the club, having pitchers of water out for everyone, and having some of the nicest people working in the club. The list goes on. But something I will always remember is the Bad Brains show last year where it was just a riot downstairs, and Thatguy and another bouncer or two were watching and making sure it didn't get out of control, but they did a really good job and they weren't trying to get their aggression out or anything. It was a shock to me. I feel that what makes the 930 stand out from most other clubs is that it is a club that appreciates music fans. It sounds like a basic point, but I can't believe how many clubs hold us in contempt almost. That's it. Thanks.

Our most sincere apologies to everyone who came to see "930 F Street" on friday 7/1. We apparently had some technical problems and the last 15 min. or so of the movie were cut off. I never really did get an answer as to what happened with the film. In any event, we are planning future screenings (most likely in and around September) so keep an eye on
www.930fstreet.com for more information. Thanks again for everyone's support!

The film was great. I loved it and had a great time even though the ending was screwed up. Does anyone know if there are more tee shirts available? My coupon needs redeemin'…

Stopped by this afternoon, and the kind woman at the box office said that it could be a couple of weeks for the shirts to come in…

Damn! Thanks for telling me though. I live in Bethesda so it would've been a pain to make a trip for nothing.

Time for More '930'
Missed the 9:30 club documentary, "930 F Street," when it screened at the club earlier this summer? Catch it this Tuesday (September 6) at 9 p.m. when the AFI Silver Theatre shows the film that pays tribute to the venue's first 25 years.
