Which Boardie's music library would you like to browse?

I've got three:

1) Dupek - just about everything he's mentioned on here that I've checked out has been great. Besides, it might give me the insight into what makes him tick.

2) Snailhook - I'm pretty sure he owns every album ever made.

3) Rhett - aside from giving me a chance to check out some country music I haven't heard of (something my library at home is sorely missing), I'd like to see if he really dislikes everything he bashes on here, or if he's just playing devil's advocate. Based on his statement that his wife calls him a "slave to critics," I'd think it's the later ;)

Jaguar,Bearman and Kosmo.

kurosawa - although i have seen her collection a few times, but lots of gems in there.

jaguar - id imagine a pretty impressive collection esp of shoegaze bands

bearman - prob has an extensive collection from the 90's manchester scene

and lastly,
ravedubin - im not sure he even is still around, but whenever he DJs im always impressed with what he has played.

1. Twangirl: I'm sure she's got the roots/Americana/alt-country angle covered better than me.

2. Anton Phibes: The fact that we see each other at quite a few shows makes me think we'd have some nice overlap.

3. Hoya: His tastes seem to have a certain need for melody that mine does, yet it's different and wide enough that I'm sure I could discover a bunch of stuff that I wasn't aware of.

1) Husker Du – Land Speed Record (original 12" on New Alliance WITH lyric sheet…not even Bob Mould has that one)
2) Catherine Wheel – She's My Friend (original 12", no barcode)
3) Catherine Wheel – Painful Thing EP (on CD)
4) KMFDM – Naive (original print on CD, signed by the band)
5) Charlatans UK – Isolation (promo CD)
6) Sugar - Beaster ("bible" packaging promo, signed by the band)

Also I have to say I am proud of my copy of Trompe Le Monde signed by all members of the Pixies. Let's just say that if you ever wanted any early stuff by Catherine Wheel, the Charlatans UK, Manic Street Preachers, Inspiral Carpets, etc., there's a good chance I've got it.

Kosmo - New, old, unknown, anything in between and recommended, I assume are in his collection.
Sonick - We have similar tastes so he'd probably let me borrow, swap or steal. :D
…Snailhook - I'm not sure about his collection, but I'm in awe of his knowledge, and ability to dumb it down for me. So, I'd rather explore his brain.

The feeling is mutual. Bearman, GGW and Kosmo would be top of my list seeing as how I already have access to venerable's collection…

i am currently cataloging my music collection right now.

but most of all i'd like to have the time to get through my own library: i have 526 albums in my "to be rated NOW" playlist and another 1500 or so that i haven't listened to / rated … whenever i look at that "135.8 days of music" thing on iTunes i get a little overwhelmed

All that other stuff you listed was cool and all, but this is REALLY good. There was a record store in Westminster, MD. that had this.

GGW - Reggae, Punk, and Folk.

Hoya, I have noticed you posting alot of vintage classics in the WAYLT thread . (ie: good taste IMHO). As I know you were too young to get them as they were released,I have no doubt, having managed to survive that era myself, that you will have many hours of enjoyment to look forward to going through them.

i'm an equal opportunity browser so unless it's going to make a nancy boy cry i'm willing to check it out

i'd gladly take a look see at any of the collections already mentioned and also Bombay Chutney, redsock, Darth Ed, Bags, etc, etc… i will only look at Julian's non-sticky collection, which could be non-musical for all i know…

and speaking of collections my "shopping" protege Bull and I are in someone bushes right now waiting for them to leave for work

Rhett is the only one that stands out.

1) Kosmo, he clearly is the power pop king and all his past recommendations and gifts have been fabulous.

2) Bombay chutney, I think he's got a lot of the old school stuff I am sorely lacking, and I think his divergences from what I've got would be interesting (EXCEPT for the Dead!!!)

3) Markie and PDX Pollard, who aren't here much anymore, but have a lot of that new stuff I haven't gotten a chance to listen to (Markie esp. with the Brits, and Pollard esp. with the Yanks).

4) Kurosawa, cuz it'd be fun to hang out with her and listen to Idlewild B-sides!!

My CD collection contains mostly releases by certain artists only. It's by no means a wide spectrum. I have many/all albums/side projects by the following bands:

Devo, Polysics, Beat Farmers, The Residents, Brand-X, Hawkwind, Steely Dan, Morphine, Cabaret Voltaire, Frank Zappa, Laika & The Cosmonauts, Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet, FEAR, Wall of Voodoo, TRIO (Da Da Da), XTC, Oingo Boingo, Barnes & Barnes, The Dead Milkmen.

I have rather a large collection of novelty music, but by far the biggest haul is my movie theme/soundtrack collection. I've got some rare stuff there.
