the deal with Digweed?

does anyone know what's the set up for the digweed show tomorrow night - a dj set, him + bank of synths, him + a band, other? big light show? long or short set?
the GF and her friends want to go out dancing/clubbing tomorrow night and i was suggesting this as an alternative - just wondering what to expect (insert indie-hipster "expect crap muzak" comment here… )

either way, john digweed is probably better music than any music you would here if you went "out clubbing"
that said, people dont dance at 930 club do they?? ;)

Thank god you're way off according to Buzzlife, the set times are…
11:00-12:30 - Sp(i)gg(y)
12:30-02:00 - Mstrkrft
02:00-04:00 - Digweed
Digweed could spin until 4:30 - 5:00 with encore.

Clearly you aren't familiar with MSTRKRFT.

some comments from the Coachella board:
1. MSTRKRFT drove us nuts a couple of weeks ago in Phoenix. They started with the Para One remix of Work On You and ended with their remix of Monster Hospital and in between played 90 minutes of insanity. They broke off some Daft Punk* midway and the shit hit the fan. Then Digweed came on and ruined EVERYTHING.
2. I saw them on the Diamonds tour as well.. MSTRKRFT tore it up, while Digweed
was on the dull side.
3. respect Digweed's exceptional mixing, he's one of the best. I just wasn't feeling the music as much as MSTRKRFT's set. The digweed set did seem a bit stale, maybe it was just me, but the crowd was definitely moving for Digweed.
4. Almost the whole set was their own tunes…I thought they killed it.Great set and the crowd was into it.I'd agree,I've seen digweed 3 times before this and I't was a little too mello after MSTRKRFT's set.
So let me know sweetcell how it was if you decide to go!

Funny you post that; I was thinking MSTRKRFT are more of a draw to me for this show but I'm not paying $30 to see them.

I saw MSTRKRF spin in London last year, and they were really good. Can't speak for Digweed, but the guy is a legend. i would think a lot harder about this show if it wasn't $30.

what the fuck, i thought MSTRKRFT were the headliners on this tour, but eveyrone i told was like "how is DIgweed opening? are you nuts?" and then another dj friend of ours was like "well, tempo wise it makes sense" and reading the reviews from Coachella boards i can see that now the tempo shift is extreme. I lie Digweed but the draw for me is MSTRKRFT< look at my effing name, man! i guess its kind of relieving to see MSTRKRFT hit teh stage first because ive been dying to see them for over a year now. sooo excited…fuck being out til 5….or not. im totally gonna lose my buzz.

Show was quite good, quite loud and busy but quite good. I would say a very nice size crowd, pretty packed at the peaks (MSTRKRFT). Digweed started off really slow but by 3:15 he was really getting it on. Spiggy, the opener, was cool, pulling out some dance moves throughout his set.
MSTRKRT were really tearing it up, they did not give people any chance to chill or slow, it was a continuous assault.
Was there to the end…

we missed the train by 4 minutes so we didnt get on the metro til 1230 and i was sooo bummed, we got to 930 right at 130 and i was so bummed ebcause i thought for sure MSTRKRFRT was done, but i walked in and they were killin it, i caught about 40 minutes of their set. Ending it on "Rollin' & Scratchin'" by Daft Punk and leading into their "Paris" was amazing, of course we had to leave at like 245 to catch the metro back and only caught about 40 some odd minutes of Digweed. I knew it would take him awhile to pick it up but i was wayyyy into MSTRKRFT. and after we gt out of the club i ran over to the alley way and there were JFK and ALP from MSTRKRFT, i got a picture with JFK but ALP got away hahaha. all ina ll, totally worth 30 bucks even if it was just for about an hour. I sincerely hope MSTRKRFT comes back.
i'll post my videos later.

Was it just me or did it get significantly louder for Digweed after MSTRKRFT?

Doesn't the metro start back up at 5? I'd guess Digweed probably got done around then.

Yes at the beginning. Didn't have time to rework the volume out front dealing with getting Digweed set up. Still wasn't really that much, maybe 3 dB.
