Songs that make you cringe

Anything by the Hold Steady. ;)

Joe, check the youtube thread.
I lost my dinner 30 seconds into the first one. Didn't watch the second, as I had no more dinner to lose.

Here they butchered "Cactus". It makes my blood boil.

There's Mankie, always there with his revisionist history right when we need it most. :D

We talked about it a little more and you know, Johnâ??s always developing new ideas, like four or five at a time, thereâ??s a whole bunch of areas he can move into, even now. So, I was happy to be loosely associated with this idea for a film and I was going to write some songs for it and then John was looking for an Eastern European piano player/singer/actress. I said, â??Well I know a girl.â?

He was looking for a 35 year old, because she was supposed to be much older than the guy and she was you know, supposed to be a force of positivity in his life and I knew Mar [Markéta Irglová], I've know Mar for years so I just suggested that John might want to meet her, because sheâ??s really talented and I have no doubt that if John had cast her for the role, she would have been lovely.

I suggested they meet. They met up and they just hit it off straight away and Mar got cast, so that was it.

I don't mind a bit of piss-taking as you know, but you lost me with your "revisionist" comment.

Clue me in please.
I was just joking, giving YOU the credit for "revising" history, when it's this Glen schlub who is the one doing it.

Apparently, they knew each other musically and socially from when she was a child, but the relationship didn't blossom into a romantic one until she was of age, or nearly of age (she 20 years his junior, regardless).

Or so he would have you believe.

It sounded as if you were regurgitating his (revisionist?) version of the story. I was jokingly giving you the credit for beiing the revisionist.

didnt know there was such an age difference, really? they look around the same age - no more than just a few years apart.
1970 and 1988. Ok, I was off by two years.
