Great story Julian. My parents even found it to be quite hilarious.
My parents took me to both the first Rolling Stones Farewell tour and the first Who farewell tour from the early 80's, Bob Dylan opening for the Grateful Dead in 1985, and both US Festivals where I fell in love with both U2 and Van Halen. They even used to let me camp out over night for tickets. So there.
