How open minded are your musical tastes

Well, when kcjones119 asked "If you were a hot dog would you eat yourself?" I thought to myself "if I could get to my junk, I'd definitely give it a try." That's pretty open minded isn't, it?
Due to an early attempt at a thread jacking, I clarified the thread topic….

not sure if that counts as open-minded, or self-serving… as my buddy one said, "if i could blow myself, i'd never leave home".
Swedish. News and Economics. Nerd Shit.

Awesome.

i'm sure most of what falls under my other catagory is all those eMusic various artist downloads that are tagged inaccurately by eMusic.
1) the color selection on those graphs is horrible. hard to tell what is what, regardless of the color scheme - very poor design.
2) pdx pollard, you scored 2.0% "canadian". hah, i knew there was a reason i liked you :)

fyi, i've been mainlining champagne for the past 2 hours. sorry aboot that :)
I'm not sure how to get a score for this. But as opinionated as people are here about music, I find it hard to believe that anyone who regularly posts on this board is "open minded" when it comes to music.

I definitely wouldn't want to be accused of being "open-minded". Open-minded simply means amorphous and lacking in principles. Definitely better to have informed opinions.
i was going to try to explain it… but it would like to explain why music older than five years old is still relevant to mr. wallace

funny, not in any dictionary i own. i thought open-minded meant "accepting of new ideas", not feeble-minded.

i think the flaw with this "open-minded index" is that it confuses wide tastes with open-mindedness. just because your music collection contains country, indie, glam rock, ska and electronica doesn't mean you can listen to the new panic at the disco album without preconceptions.

go to the website quoted in the first post, and point it towards your last.fm account (i.e. you need to be a last.fm user to get a score).

What are the tags based on? Your own tagging of music, or the general Last.FM tags? Just curious…I don't use it enough (beyond just cataloging what I listen to) to know the bells and whistles.
It's done by the general last.fm tags. Because I know I haven't marked my Jens or my Peter Bjorn and John as Swedish.

and i fully concur with this statement as i'm as closed minded as all get out about stuff that i think is crap… i.e. mainstream country

obviously there are several ways to measure open-mindedness… one could be open minded if they are searching around for music released on net labels or into experimental/fringe music or think Jandek rules the roost.
