you are right, we need more "age Poll" threads started by your friends. those are stellar. :)
Yeah, I can guarantee that's one I won't be posting on. Notify V. Bede immediately.

is your reading comprehension really that bad? it can't possibly be. work with me, here.
y'all are not following me. i said to leave the newbies and those that don't want to be a part of the mudslinging alone. that means that there may be entire threads that don't have negative posts. if nobody is interested in them, they will go away. if they thrive, then maybe there's some interest.
i have repeatedly said that those interested in carrying on with each other are more than welcome to continue to do so. all you have to do is LEAVE THE DAMN NEWBIES ALONE. nobody is telling you that you have to become nice, grownup, decent folk all of a sudden. just learn how to not post sometimes. it's really easy. i know how great it is to see your oh so witty pretend name that you have changed three times that week up in pretty lights on your computer screen, but you really don't need to put it on every thread.

Impossible! (Except for the meaner bit)

Perhaps you are right. When the usual perpretrators of mishief are having off days, others must pick up the slack.

i am 15, so what? are you going to discriminate against me now?
That would explain your immaturity when it comes to selecting your favourite hockey team… ;)

Just seeing if I could catch anybody dumb enough to post a show review of a show that had not yet happened. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I feel bad as a rule – I don't think I'm one of the 'regulars' thatguy had in mind when he posted. I'm usually inviting of newbies (I was one once, after all, and remember how weird it was quite well) – ironically, except for you, muschi, who I believe was being negative, simplistic and particularly nasty about both New Jersey and the Wrens. I responded to you because I, in fact, found YOU to be smothering of opinions and the discussion. Hence, I find you post in this thread to be pretty ironic as well.
PS, anything I said to you in the Wrens thread I'd say to your face, and in front of thatguy! ;)

Well, good for you, but not everyone is made of Teflon. I think it's ridiculous to like alt-country, does that make me right? No, it's my opinion. Your opinion is that what is said on message board should be taken with a grain of salt. And generally I agree. But sometimes, the things said on this board are truly mean-spirited and not everyone can be as tough or quick-witted or sarcastic as you (and others).
I agree with you completely, Arlette. In my first few months of posting, I felt very hurt a few times – on a personal level, as if someone had said something horribly rude to my face, in front of a crowd of people.
Bulletin Boards were new to me entirely, though, and I hadn't realized there could be a real sense of community. As I began to see that there is a community, then people were particularly mean-spirited to me personally was jarring and I almost left a couple times. I certainly SWORE I'd never meet anyone here. Guess that didn't work out all that well!

Oh man that has me cracking up….
I know someone will call me sanctimonious or a suckup or whatever (and they will, as I'm an oldster here), but here's my example – not only do I not post, but I don't even read threads on fantasy hockey, fantasy football, most soccer threads, the fourth thread on when will New Pornographer tix go on sale, "short people," "tall people," or the gajillion threads Dupek sometimes decides to start all at once with titles just one letter different, etc. Just skip 'em entirely. So easily done.

And isn't it cool that the 9:30 Club is offering special $50 tickets to people who want a VIP standing area spot and a "meet and greet" with Dar Williams. A place up front AND you get to talk to the artist? Most clubs would insist that you actually show up early for these opportunities (or stick around after the show), but the 9:30 Club has now given people the opportunity to pay twice the cover charge for these opportunities. GOD Bless the 9:30 club, for selling these unique opportunities to clubgoers!
I suppose we should make it clear that this is an initiative DAR Williams has put in place to benefit local, grass roots charities which she believes do good and perhaps under appreciated works on a local basis. The DC area group she will be donating the proceeds from the VIP ticket sales is CrisisLink - a crisis and
suicide prevention hotline in the DC area.
