Secret Machines in Baltimore

So i just recently found out about this show and I was very excited, but then i see you have to WIN tickets to this show…..
you can listn to WRNR or go to select locations in Baltmore this weekend (they had others previously in College Park). anyway, this was all posted before…but….
I went to one of these places last night to see if i could win tickets…there were about 15 people there and the Jack Daniels people showed up and set up shop…and here's how to win:
the dude has an Ipod and you get 3 categories, New Rock, Classic Rock or 80s. Then he plays you a song and you have to guess it. The song i got was "Hate To Say I Told You So" by the Hives…….. lol. (my girlfriend got Franz Ferdinand) Point is…everyone at the bar got to play, more than once, you could only win 2 tickets per person, but you could play again and get hats and shirts too….(Jack Daniels shirts and hats, not Secret Machines stuff).
so if you want to go to the show, go to one of these locations this weekend, you're almost guaranteed to walk out with a pair of tickets.

Ummm…Let me know if theres any way to get to the show without doing all this BS. I will gladly pay $15 or so…
Their concert at 930 a few months ago was amazing.

it was so easy to get tickets (got them at jd's in canton) - basically if you told them you liked the band - they gave you tickets. you had to play 'games' to win tickets, but they would let you play multiple times, so it was quite easy to get tickets.

it may be first come first serve, but consider that your average bar patron walked out of there w/ about 50 tickets. i can't see all of them getting used so the line shouldn't be that long.

Show wasn't bad, especially for being free, openers were good as well, but the setup of the venue is a little weird, plus the Jack Daniels pressure to only serve Jack and Fordham kind of threw a damper on things, but all in all it was well worth the 45 minute drive.

Any other reviews? How did it match up with their performance at 930 a few months ago…

Well, I can say that they are truly great live. I have seen them 4 times now and though, i didnt see them at 930 last month, so i cant compare…it was probably better.
Without the spot lights they just feel like a more rocking band and I still think "Pharoah's Daughter" sounds like "Dark Side Of The Moon" but….the drummer was probably the most on point he's ever been. I couldnt stop dancing around. And i still love thier set up so that every band member is at the front of the stage.
Just an all around great band who keeps getting better by the day

they had the whole upstairs section of rams head live sectioned off for VIP people only - there was no danger of people being turned away at the door, heh.
It was strange to see almost the entire liquor shelf replaced with nothing but JD.
Anyway, the show was pretty good, probably something I wouldn't pay to see - don't get me wrong, I dig the secret machines, but to me its more of 'chill out' music where I need to be sitting down.
Two if by Sea were really good.
