now with Raconteurs and Gnarles back to back will we see them do the Crazy song together?
and is safe to assume that neko isn't touring with the new pronographers at the moment?

my thoughts on the schedule.
I am unhappy unhapppy. but i know the show cant be made for me.
the 5 bands i wanted to see, New Pornos, the Who, Scissor Sisters, Raconteurs and Wolfmother seem to be playing all together.
i can pick either NPs OR Raconteurs/Wolfmother during the day, but the 2 of those 5 that i've never seens (s.sisters and the who) are tougher.
and then from 3-5 i could care less where i am.
(i know i know Gnarls is playing at 4pm but i have seen Gnarls already and it bored me to tears)

Au contraire. This is an issue for me. I've heard the Flaming Lips put on a nice lil' show. On top of that, any cat (Wayne? is the lead sungers name) with a fuckin' hamster wheel is most def on some rock & roll shit, so they're alright with me. But miss the Chili Peppers for that???? FUCK NO . . . .
I hope the schedules run late so I can catch the Lips . . . .

third stage with local bands: not that i've heard of.
there is a third "venue" for "music", the dance tent… now this i just don't understand. methinks that the audience interested in those DJs probably wouldn't pay $97.50+ to see them - therefore the dance tent won't sell many additional tickets on its own. might influence a few people on the fence ("dude, the killers AND tiesto?!? now i gotta go!"), but probably not enough to justify the crazy amounts of money that tent will require in artists' fees. thoughts?

Well - there is some crossover with the early DJ's and the indie crowd (RJD2 and 2 Many DJ's) I know a kid that is paying just to see 2 Many DJ's - kinda silly, but yeah.

you're reading that wrong. no extra fees.
my point: the dance tent won't attract many people so organizers could have saved $ by not having it while not losing many ticket buyers.
on the otherhand, the tent does increase musical variety, which is the point of the festival.

i know at least 5 people that bought tickets solely for the DJ tent and have no plans to check out any of the other bands…

that DJ Lineup is a pretty sick DJ lineup. i mean, yeah, people pay $40 just to see Tiesto in some crowded ass nightclub.
i'd like to catch some of 2 many DJs, but dont have plans to see any of the other DJs.
but yeah, i know 2 people who are going just to hear James Holden!

so, supposedly VHS or Beta will be playing a DJ set somewhere else (not on any of the 3 main stages) at 5pm.
and while this doesnt sound all that kickass, it is. I saw VHS or Beta do a DJ set at Lollapalooza and its great.
they are like a disco house DJ who then decides to play some punk songs and what not.
if you arent a killers/brazillian girls fan, i highly recommend VHS or Beta.
