The Heavenly States...

…are apparently playing the Ottobar and the Velvet Lounge on Sept. 20.

How is that possible?? Unless there really is a band called "Heavenly Shoes"…
From past experience, I would bet on The Ottobar being the correct venue.

They did the same thing about a month ago with Skydivers who appeared to be playing at both the Velvet and the Black Cat on the same evening. In that case, the Black Cat was the winner!
Velvet Lounge needs to claim DCFC's second night in DC is actually there. It'll be funny.

No surpirse, but they are not playing the Velvet Lounge that night. Blame it on greedy booking agents.

The only reason I knew it was on Velvet's schedule is because you mentioned it here. Someone does need to update that site…
The Heavenly States are any that begin with an M or a W. For example, Wisconsin & Michigan are heavenly states. New Jersey & California are not.

The Vl's own employees complain about their website. And it is worth mentioning that if you are a local band who wants to play VL on the 20th, please PM me.
Is this band any good? I'm not familiar with them, but I see they're playing in Richmond the next day.
I've only heard this one song: Pretty Life, and I like it. I read a positive review of their cd in CMJ, in which they threw in some Archers of Loaf comparisons. Always a plus in my book. I'd be interested in checking them out.
