going to the Nationals game?

I have a question. I am figuring there is a Metro stop near RFK, but i have never used it or anything. Is it like a real pain in the ass to use? (as in ultra jam packed) safe to walk to at night, etc? (its right across the Street isnt it?
thanks…

actually, how about driving? is it a traffic nightmare out there or is it not so bad. cause i think the Metro might be like a real kind of a pain in the ass.

We took the Metro to the Stadium/Armory stop, where you still have to walk a quarter mile. It is a bit congested, though no worse than any other rush hour Metro situation. Despite the fact that there were a few of brothers hanging around the area smoking weed, I'd still call it a safer experience than walking to the 9:30 Club for a show, particularly since you have large numbers of other people walking with you.
That being said, RFK Stadium is pretty grungy compared to Camden Yards. Despite having to drive from VA to Baltimore, we still opted to take my wife's parents to Camden Yards for a game rather than RFK.

http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/was/ballpark/directions.jsp havent been yet, so cant tell you from personal experience, but there should be lots of people, so walking from the metro should be fine

oh, should i ride my bike? maybe I'll do that!
see, I would have to drive to the Metro Station from Baltimore. So i am driving halfway to DC anyway. then paying $5 each for me and my lady to take the train there and back, and then to sit on a crowded ass train the whole way home, and i do have to work in the morning.
if it were an Orioles game, I would walk. but its not so try and be helpful for once ;)

Taking the Metro to games is a breeze. Yeah, it gets a little crowded, but you're not on it very long. The stop is the equivalent of a few blocks from the stadium. It's completely safe. There will be hundreds of people getting off the train with you before the game, and 10,000+ heading to Metro afterwards. Go to the far Metro entrance after the game and you'll be on the train in a few minutes.
