Your "lifestyle" isn't a choice or a path determined before birth; it's a rather simple combination of alcoholism and sexual abuse by a relgious authority figure!

I bet you he won't even consider "healing" himself if he had not been caught ;) I bet you he wasn't even a victim of sexual abuse - it's just some explanation of his behavior was needed and someone had to be a scapegoat for it.

So the priest he claims is involved would have to be well into his 60s or beyond. Maybe his lawyers are looking for a dead priest to pin it on.

That's my guess.

Whether it's true or not, I find it a really sad state of affairs that people would be more willing to be an alcoholic AND to have been molested as a child than to be gay.

Of course, I'm using this as an excuse from now one: "I forgot to take out the trash? Uhm, well you see honey, it's not my fault. There's something I need to tell you…"

The Democrats knew about the whole thing ages ago, too, but they've been sitting on it until right before the midterms, trying to deal the most possible damage to the Republicans. Since when are 16 or 17 year olds "lirrle boys"? Cut the guy SOME slack. It's not like these kids were 10 or 11.

If I were a 16 or 17 yr old gay kid, I'd think it was pretty cool that a good looking older guy was flirting with me.

I don't think you give 16 year olds enough credit for who many of them are.

By that time, at least half of them have been sexually active.

When I was 24, I worked as a substitute teacher. I had numerous cute 16 and 17 year olds suggestively flirting with me. One even left me a note with her number as she was leaving the room. Others asked for my number.

If I had responded in any way or even had done anything to provoke such behavior (which I didn't), of course would have been inappropriate. Of course, Foley's actions are inappropriate. But did he do anything ILLEGAL? I don't think so.

But the idea that 16 and 17 year olds are these innocent young things that need all this protection, I'm not buying it. The transcripts I read seemed to show that the boys were flirting right back with him.
