ticket selling etiquette

I know most people on the board already know this, but here is an example of what NOT to do when selling concert tickets to a sold out show.

DON'T offer to sell your tickets to someone, accept their offer to purchase your tickets, attempt to arrange a meeting to exchange money and tickets, and then sell them to someone else, thereby screwing the person who was orginally going to buy the tickets. It makes me people very, very cranky. And it kinda makes you look like a big ole jackass.
Sorry, I couldn't resist selling them to someone else. They offered me twice as much.
Wow you really kinda do suck.

He was mocking you for making such an obvious complaint, making him not suck, rather than kinda suck.

But if you've already promised the tickets to someone else, common decency requires you to give the first person the opportunity to match the price.

Actually, it makes him suck either way. If he was the person who dicked me over, or for mocking.

So sorry if it's a "common complaint," dear Hoya, but screwing someone over with tickets is wrong.
rhett just wants attention. its kinda sad really.
:D
Dear Rhett,

Please stop trying to steal my thunder.

Love,

Me
When i sell tickets I usually give the buyer fakes and then just sell them to someone I like. Does this make me a bad person?

Not really. Unless I am your original buyer. In which case, yes.

Wow, you really kind of suck. How dare you make sarcastic comments on this board. This issue is clearly a pressing one that is plaguing our area, but now that I've learned the correct way to resell and buy tickets, hopefully I won't run into this problem.

Hey Hoya, to borrow a quote from one of my favorite flicks, what's your damage? I am all for sarcastic comments, in fact I am rather a sarcastic bitch oftentimes, but let me have my rant. I don't think you'd find it so funny had you been in the same situation.

Boy, I used to think that sarcasm was fun and it made me feel good. Now I know that it's destructive and hurts people.

Thanks, Hoya, for helping me to become a better person.

You two are so clever and witty. Your mothers must be so proud.
Megs Megs Megs…don't take it so personally. These threads take on a life of their own after two or three posts sometimes and whatever follows has little or nothing to do with the original post/poster.

I'm sure everyone feels for you and is sorry you didn't get to go to yoru show.

Chaz. Thanks. This is all well and good. But there are certain times when you don't want to eff with the ladies, and this is one of those times. Like I said, I heart mocking, I do it all the time. But I want my damn tickets.
If you wanted "your damn tickets" so bad, why did you let the show sell out, forcing you to turn to purchasing them from such a shady source?

Because, dearest Golfer, I was broke. And then I went out of town over 4th of July weekend. When I left, the show hadn't sold out yet. So yeah, it's my fault for not buying them sooner. But I've bought tickets to sold-out shows before, and never had this happen to me. Hence my rage.
