Kosmo…if you're taking requests…just queue up the live version of The Dears "Pinned Together, Falling Apart". At 15+ minutes, it's perfect for a bio break, grabbing a refreshment, chatting with friends, etc. :)
Calls Will Roll
Sorry that would get in the way of the planned Tribute to String Tribute… lets see Radiohead, U2, Tool, White Stripes, Rush, Offspring, Switchfoot should cover it don't you think!

I will be there as well. thanks to the Rosebuds ;)
New Fannies album is mellow…not sure how I'll like it on a long term basis, but it's nice stuff.

that was one hell of a show, leave it to the old folks to show us how it's done … rosebuds surprised me, they were really solid, had some great harmonies working … speaking of harmonies, the fannies were just fantastic, pure solid power pop all the way through, felt like they played their greatest hits album with a couple of the new ones (which i didn't quite care for) sprinkled in … went on for two encores, at the end of the second they played the bevis frond's "like a diamond"
the teenage fanclub frontman (forgive me for not knowing his name) was one of the nerdiest guys i've seen on stage, he could barely complete a sentence and seemed so awkward up there in between songs … then he'd launch into a hit and i'd forget all about it …
great show.
'The Concept' is such a great song, sounded great live
Teenage Fanclub are exhibit A to prove that major labels once signed bands based on talent and not the ability to put on eyeliner… Much like The Soft Boys, Gang of Four, Pixies, etc, four ordinary joes walk on stage with a couple amps and guitars and just played great songs. A tad lowkey at times but they ripped it when needed.
Oh and to all those people who complain DC audiences are lame should have been at this one. From my vantage point most of the floor was either swaying or bopping along to the music, through the show..

The Kaiser Chiefs are scheduled to appear on Regis and Kelly. Talk about destroying your alternative cred.

can we all agree that the drummer for the rosebuds makes the most hilarious faces when he plays? i seriously had to keep myself from looking at him for much of their set because i would just lost it laughing. oh man i wish i took pictures.
Yeah - He was lots of fun to watch.

and i'm getting into it … kind of the same post-punk revival sound going around right now, but not as dancy … definitely worth getting there early for

Hoya - I didn't think they were too awkward when speaking…seemed to be very down-to-earth and ready to play.
From a far, and with my terrible vision, I thought the keyboardist looked like Vince Vaughn.

What about the Rosebuds though? At least the keyboardist/vocalist – very reactionary while playing. She kept looking at the lead singer before each note.
Originally posted by Sugartastic:well, you and i have a different understanding of awkwardness then … he said all these half-sentences and kind of trailed off all the time, but it was more a "winningly earnest" kind of awkward rather than "disturbingly morose" … i heard people around me say he was probably voted "worst public speaker" in high school

You guys are silly. Beef up on your Scottish accent.
