I would think between 1 hour 20 minutes to 2 hours tops.

Not sure if this was a sarcastic reply or not, but what I meant was, how long, as in how many weeks, will they be showing this film at e street. I'll probably just call to find out.

i would say that barry lyndon is the only must see movie i know of right now. after watching it, you will never look at "masterpiece films" the same way again.

Going back to "What We Do Is Secret", I would concur. I have always had a love/hate for Darby. Love because he was brilliant smart-ass who could have really gone places. Hate because he treated some of his closest friends like crap and he became a pathetic junkie. But I also feel a lot of sympathy for him too because he clearly couldn't get it together, his sexuality being a major issue that must have caused him a lot of conflict and pain. That being said, the movie expands enough on the books and fleshes out the story in a way that gives life to all of the band members. I especially loved watching the guy who played Don Bolles, and the chick who played Amber. Casey Cola was the freak I always suspected she was. I'm so thrilled in retrospect to have seen Shane West with the Germs (twice in fact) in concert. All in all, well worth the wait and I hope that people will get a chance to see it tonight if they haven't already. Bombay, that includes you!

I liked it, but I would have rather seen a real documentary about the Germs than something like this. Dramas about real people and events tend to come off a bit cheesy at times. They try so hard to work in the various symbols and touchstones, it comes off a little forced, or they don't go into them past a fleeting mention. There were a lot of people and situations in the movie I wouldn't have fully understood, if I didn't already know what was going on.
I liked the portrayals of the rest of the band. There's always so much emphasis on Darby, it's interesting to see a little of their perspective.
I don't think they focused enough on the supposed cult-like following the band had. They should have focused a little more on his mother and his sexuality. I get the impression those were rather big issues in why he was as messed up as he was.
It was absolutely worth seeing, but I'm gonna break out GI and watch "The Decline…" this week, just to catch a glimpse of the real thing again.
Now where's that Screamers documentary? ;)

Just wondered what opinions were.

Yes. I saw it in the theater and thought it was excellent, very compelling and thought-provoking. I thought it was well shot, directed and acted. But a real downer. I'm glad I saw it, but don't think I could watch it again.
