Radiohead webcast at 3 today

On radiohead.tv.
"So, we've got a small gig tonight.
It's in London at the Rough Trade East shop on Brick Lane, and we're planning to play a short set of in rainbows material. It's very limited free entry,
first come first served. Also, as it might be a little uncomfortable for anyone queuing early, they're planning a numbering system so people at the front
of any queue can get snacks and toilet breaks in the store. Good bagels round there. But dress warm…doors won't open until 7, and we'll play at about
8.
For those who can't get in - and it's pretty small in there - we'll have some screens and speakers outside, if we're allowed. I think we are. And we'll
also webcast it. I'll put the link up here, as well as any other info, later today.
Hope you can make it - should be…interesting. Us being us, we're taking far too many instruments…"

Why do bands do this? Is it an ego stroke? I mean RADIOHEAD announces there going to do some "small, intimate" gig and every Briton under the age of thirty goes ape-shit. Really, Thom Yorke? A Rough Trade record store? RADIOHEAD? Who are you fooling? What is the purpose of this? Yeah, it will be a fantastic gig for a couple hundred and about 10,000 will have taken a day off of work, stood out in the cold and be turned away and pissed off.

Well, it got your attention, so you just answered your own question. If you don't care about it, then why talk about it?

Don't feed the trolls.
Seems like the online broadcast is getting slammed too. I'm getting 400 errors or a blank page.

As wank-tastic as I think Radiohead has become, these constant streamed shows have been pretty cool.
I wish they had MP3's of that covers-heavy set the did a few months back; some of those songs were pretty killer.

It's not your firewall, their streaming media servers are getting slammed.
