well, if american bars would bother stocking GOOD canadian beer, yall wouldnt have to drink Molson and Labatts all the time… :)
There's no better N.American beer than that produced from the oldest brewery on the continent, Molson. Microbrews are for wussies.
my favorite beers are the ones with alcohol

You need to get around (or 'out and about' as we might say). There are some excellent beers that come out of medium sized breweries that are outstanding. Creemore, Sleeman, and Keiths are my favorites. All three brands are widely available and it ain't that fruity, wishy washy, namby pamby, little girl micro-mouthwash stuff either.

I think we could probably get a federal education grant to take a roadtrip of the Breweries of Ontario. A fact finding mission, as it were…
thats about right, plus a ton of other shite beers by the bottle

me, I love Guinness extra cold! Some bars have actually stopped selling regular guinness and just sell extra cold

when i was living in ireland ('02), it seemed like budweiser was the beer of choice among many of the locals … pubs would have the following taps:

2 guinness
2 guinness extra cold
2 heineken
2 budweiser
(maybe some smithwicks or harps)

i got kind of sick of guinness after drinking it every day for about a month, so i switched over to smithwicks … i love how you can get smithwicks in the states now, i got addicted to that stuff
yeah, it is great that you can get it here now…

It's true we don't stock any Canadian beers, don't ask me why.

I will admit though that of all the Canadian beers I've tried that Molson Canadian (not Golden) is the best. The rest I've tried have been pretty bad.

I have mentioned the Bud phenomenom over here, but it's mostly with the younger crowd. They drink the nasty shit room temperature too!

Down here in the south they also have Beamish and Murphy's taps. There seems to be a promotion of Beamish in Dublin because I noticed in quite a number of bars had staff wearing Beamish shirts last weekend.
ahh, finally woken up enough to type.

the show was brilliant as usual. i think the setlist they played could've been better and a touch longer, but thats just nitpicky.

the new songs are amazing. much livlier than some of the other crunchy rock stuff they did on Gravity and they played oh so well live. It seemed they really really loved playing them too.

they played In Repair, my favourite song of theirs and so the night was a gleaming success :)

Danko Jones sucks. there is just no other way to describe it.

and i just DONT see how you can go to a concert and stand there, completely motionless. i mean, no head bob, no foot tap, nothing!!! are these people robots??? totally weird. the crowd on the floor was cool, for DC but the balcony…come on people its just freaky to see you up there like a painting!!!!

i'll be seein them next weekend in Cleveland too….
I didn't think Danko Jones was THAT bad. I mean, I didn't like the music much but there was something to be said for his stage persona. I found it kinda endearing. F**k yeah.

OLP put a hell of a show. I liked the pacing of the show and it was great to hear Naveed. Definitely takes me back.

If you're a really big OLP fan, you might be interested in a project that Raine Maida is working on. It's a benefit CD for War Child. He's enlisted Sam Roberts, The Dears, The Weakerthans, and other Canucks to appear on it. Should be an interesting CD. Here's a link to the Canoe article.

I'm off to the Homeland - Sam Roberts tomorrow night and The High Dials on Sunday!
