not that i can vote, but i was wondering.
in the state election for Maryland, how is the voting counted?
Do they count up each county and add up the counties i.e. the electoral college?
i just figured it was the big ole popular vote, but now someone is trying to tell me differently.
and if someone knows and can provide a link that would RULE!
thanks yanks!

Not sure but I know in Baltimore City they count the cemetaries and vacant houses last. (I'm not kidding either!)

Oh, God! We're in trouble now. :p
Actually, congratulations! And happy birthday.
Sonick, I am dead serious! (Pun intended.) About 10 years ago Baltimore City was caught backloading votes with that of dead people and people who supposedly lived at addresses that turned out to be vacant houses. Of course, this was the year they actually got caught. And of course, in full Baltimore Shitty fashion, other than one person taking a lot of heat, nothing was ever really done about it.
I'm pretty sure that this was the same time when someone who was running for governor and was way ahead all night until the last minute and then there was a big shift changing the outcome all at pretty much in the last hour or so. Someone who was very involved in taking the case to court told me they had all the very clear evidence to prove it. It was determined to be so in court but the judge (whom we assume was bought) conveniently didn't sign some seal which, in turn, invalidated the outcome. That is true Baltimore Shitty as it is today.

Accoring to
the Maryland archives, the Governor is elected by popular vote.
