from the
washpost story on the predicted traffic problems:
Nissan Pavilion officials declined to talk about the logistical challenges that the Obama rally raises.
"I understand what you're going after. You want to write another story about traffic at Nissan and Radiohead, and we're not going to comment," said Rob Muller, the pavilion's director of marketing.
absolutely hilarious … this Muller character provided the perfect punchline for the story, doesn't he realize he should just say "no comment" and hang up the phone?! he's their "director of marketing"!!

Actually, a good PR person never says "no comment"… but he would have said something so offensively bland that they wouldn't have wanted to waste their time repeating it.
ps – people who go to political rallies are ghey.

I was really bummed he got the nod. I'd have voted for 3 of the other candidates had they got the nod. The majors certainly aren't offering anything to get me excited about, to say the least.

A good PR move would have to been to acknowledge that there is a serious problem with the conjestion and that they are "looking into it." Then when the problems persist over the next months and years, he can respond by simply saying: "we're still looking into it." ;)

Seriously though, why would you go to hear a politician issue carefully crafted verbiage?

Traffic couldn't be that bad; the post said they only had 10,000, less than half capacity. I watched this on TV and there were almost NO crowd shots.

I wouldnt go to one because I hate crowds, but I am pretty certain people dont go for the speech, the people I know who went to the 70,000 person Obama rally here in Portland all talked about what a good time it was and it wasnt because of the speech, but maybe thats a west coast thing (people actually liking each other)

So, Radiohead drew more people to Nissan in the middle of torrential rain than Obama did on a sunny day?
Granted, Obama announced this shit last minute, but wow.

10000 is pretty impressive for last minute, McCain drew 1200 people in New Orleans and people knew he would be there for 3 weeks

Yea, 10,000 is a lot for last minute. But still Radiohead must have more devoted fans. Ha.
Speaking of Obama, did anyone notice Dylan's recently announced support for him?
