Roll Call: Wizards vs. Suns

There will be more shots put up tonight than at a Robert Pollard concert. Anybody else going?
should be a great game - I'm tempted (and also wifeless/childless till Thursday) but kinda wrecked from too many late nights and early mornings

are tickets still available?
Cheapest tickets still available are $48. And that's on the 400 level.

I usually get $10 tickets at the box office with only a $1 service fee. Oddly, they weren't selling those for this game at the box office, so I was forced to pay the ticketmaster fees.
i refuse to sit in the 400 level because i'm a snob, but lower-level cheapies on craigslist weren't really an option for this game so i took advantage of the $10 uppers, can't miss this one. i'm 6-0 on the season so far, suns on a long winning streak (again), wiz 10 in a row at home, should be a great one. good to see TOUGH JUICE getting the player of the week nod, well deserved.
$10 seats?? You'd better take a pair of these…

They call Butler "Tough Juice"?

When my wife first saw him, she thought he looked retarded. So we call him "The Retard".

But in an affectionate way, of course.

I'm hoping I get to sit next to the little kid who we once sat next to who uttered the word "Buckets" each time the Wiz scored.
yeah, Tough Juice. the story goes that at practice some time ago he said that some players on the team needed to drink more "tough juice" and the name stuck. the bog has covered it a bunch. y'all gotta read that thing, it's great. there are also tough juice t-shirts, a bit pricey tho.
should be a great one
i've sat in the upper level a couple of times for wizards games (most recently the last bulls game), and i think i'd rather just watch on TV than sit up there … i may be spoiled by my sec. 118 verizon center season tickets for georgetown games, but the upper level of an arena for basketball is just incredibly boring
The last time The Suns had a 15 game win streak (earlier this season) it was stopped by a 139-144 OT loss to the Wizards. Arenas had 54 points in that game and Nash had 42, it was a slugfest with The Wiz delivering the final blow, great game. The Wizards have a reputation as being a streak-busting team. Wish I could be at this game.
should be a great game….the stretch phoenix is on right now is unreal (nash's miss at the end of regulation in the last wiz game and nowitzki's last second shot are all that stand between them and a 30 game streak)
how can anybody watch the nba, i went to one game, thanks to free access to a luxury suite, so bored I left at half time, of course that was when Jordan was playing for the wiz against Allan Houston's Knicks, such a different game than college basketball and so lifeless
you crazy, pollard. granted, jordan-era wiz against allan houston-era knicks is gonna suck, but the NBA is really the only sport worth watching these days. college basketball? please. once you're outta college i don't understand how you can be into it except for gambling purposes. they may play with passion, but they lack the talent, except for the guys that david stern doesn't allow in the NBA cuz they too young, like kevin durant.
People still watch the NBA?

I'm pretty sure I watch more sports in a year than anybody on this board, but the NBA???
I will take any college basketball game, and any hockey game over the nba, so much wasted talent in the nba, and way too much turnover to form any allegiances if you don't have a hometown team, and I am not adopting the trailblazers, although they would have been fun if rasheed was still here
y'all are stuck with 5-year old NBA stereotypes. it's a new era – lebron, dwyane, gilbert, yao, dwight howard, etc. and the only drugs the guys are on are the good kinds we used to do in college. and there's not really that much turnover, any team that wants to keep its superstars have the system working in its favor to do so. and with that i'm off to the verizon center.
the only drugs the guys are on are the good kinds we used to do in college.
'shrooms and nitrous???
are they calling travelling yet?
I was lucky enough to sit in a box at half court last night for the Nuggets/Griz Melo returns game. Seeing A.I. throw up that high alleyoop to Melo made me about as happy as if I had been trasported back to McNichols Arena in 1986 seeing Fat Lever throw an assist to Alex English while Doug Moe sports a brillant brown coat and tie on the sidelines.
Actaully, the refs have been cracking down on palming the basketball, and I've seen more traveling calls this year. But the rules are still geared toward the free-flowing up-and-down style of basketball at which both the Suns and Wiz excel.
