By the way, The Event FAQ shows you what can and can't bring. I'll have my disposable camera handy.
Guided by Voices are playing the same day as Violent Femmes
this shows me how little I know about some venues in this area…where is this place 'live on penn'?
I've read somewhere that July 26 is They Might Be Giants.

it on pennslyvania avenue in dc, near the national gallery of art… imagine lots of concrete, intense heat and a 1000 of your closest friends drunk.
why all these ethnic themes when none of the bands are those ethnicities? or is it the food and drink vendors they will have that particular night?
July 26 - They Might Be Giants and Moe
On the Live on Penn website it now delineates – Festivals 1 - 4 p.m.; Concerts 4 - 10 p.m. I think that's the answer – the festival and it's theme have *nothing* to do with the bands.

Plus, the website now lists Guided by Voices on July 12 officially.

Woo hoo!!!!

Unfortunately,they're the opener.Guess they'll only get to play about 2 hours then instead of 3 : )
Here's who else has been added:

July 26th: Big Head Todd & the Monsters, They Might Be Giants, Arrested Development, Niki Barr, Bicycle Thieves
So I see that admission costs $3 (proceeds for charity)… Do you just pay when you get there? I can't imagine them selling tickets in advance for $3…
For the most part, these are a lot of washed up bands. Other cities that have festivals like this have better and more ecelectic acts.
So does that mean Rhett Miller will be playing there next? :p

Another mediocre solo album, and I'd say Rhett could garner some attention for a live on penn spot.
Isnt Live on Penn a step up from free at the Kennedy Center?

no, the most popular band in DC played for free at the Kennedy Center, Nickel Creek, if only it were Nickelback, then Sonick would be happy
but the Kennedy center was ill set up for that many people making it terrible. I am sure people will have a much better time live on Penn.

Hey big bad Bob, are you going to take me there Saturday?
