Just found out that Terry Gilliam will be at the
Hirshhorn tomorrow night (Thursday) to introduce a free screening of his new movie
Tideland, "a bleak fairy tale".

He was cast but they ran out of time for his scenes. I'm sure Terry will apologize at the screening.

I never saw The Brothers Grim, bcause Matt Damon was in it. God I hope Terry never casts Angelina Jolie or Gwynneth Paltrow in one of his. Ben Affleck, strangely, would be okay.

Saw Tideland at the Toronto Film Festival. It is a disaster and an endurance test, but it's pretty much still required viewing. I didn't enjoy it, but I respected it. One way or another, it will make you forget about the Brothers Grimm.
Anyway, what's the Matt Damon beef? I loved Syriana last year and The Departed this year.

I love Terry Gilliam, but when the last good movie he was involved in was a documentary about his inability to make the Don Quixote film, it should have been a clue to his fans that his glory days were over.
