Gorilla Biscuits/Quicksand/Rival Schools

I received a new email from Walter Schriefels that I thought I would pass on. After the interview he performed:

'Audrey' (Walking Concert)
'Undercovers On' (Rival Schools)
'Dine Alone' (Quicksand)
'Going Camping' (Solo )
'Start Today' (Gorilla Biscuits)
'High Hopes' (Gorilla Biscuits)
'Open Letter' (Solo)
'Depressed Friends' (Solo)
'Thorn In My Side' (Quicksand)

Hi there, I'm writting to let you know that I did a really fun and cool thing. I performed and was interviewed on "The Interface" which is a great internet radio show presented by AOL.

I perfomed a bunch of songs, old and new and spoke on a bunch of interesting

topics. The band before me was The Racontours and Cat Power showed up right after, about right, staying classy.

The address is http://music.aol.com/artists/the-interface/walter-schreifels

The host of the show told me he has been listening to my performance pretty much non-stop so I figure it must be damn good.

hope you are well.

thanks,
w
Ah, to hear Rival Schools again. And Quicksand… I forgot you were the big Walter fan on here. If only he didn't have band ADD.

Be serious. GB we're certainly more than a few cuts above their contemporaries, and Quicksand and Rival Schools both good bands if that's your thing, but a genius? He gets serious extra points for naming an EP after Arthur Lee (and I like the Lullaby for Arthur Lee tune), but a genius? I don't think so.
We went to the GB Ottobar show. Mr. Nietzsche is a huge fan and I had heard of them, but didn't know any of their songs. I enjoyed myself anyway. The energy was great, and the pit extended about 2/3 of the way to the back.

A web site recently put up a list of every song that Walter has ever written or played on (it's a lot).
