Audioslave?
That City Paper article was striking in regards to the people who are moving into those new million-dollar lofts in Adams-Morgan. Apparently they are already complaining about the noise from the 18th Street strip. What the hell did they expect? You can be sure that before too long they'll be agitating to get those businesses to tone it down. As a long time DC resident, I'd be just as happy to see many of the new peeps who are coming in and trying to suburbanize the city stay out.

I guess you didn't take what I said as I thought you would. It was a joke. I doubt I would raise my kids in the city either. There's a lot to be said for lots of open space.

quote:
Originally posted by markie:
As for you Thirsty, I grew up in a quiet village. you said, "what is their tax money no good?", which seems to say that is enough, doesn't show a lot of caring, unless following the law is caring
and I was pointing out before that one of the problems with race relation problems in dc is that they may be perceived as not caring
i havent bought the new audioslave cd yet.

So I'm guessing that nobody has any clue why DC was snubbed by Audioslave?

I agree with what Markie says below. Except as I near the age of 36, the lure of the bright lights of the big city have dimmed significantly for me. Other than a shorter commute (assuming I stay employed in the city, and don't get a job in Rockville or Fairfax or something), the city doesn't really offer me what interests me. And if an event in the city does catch my attention, well that's what my car or Metro is there for.

As for you Thirsty, I grew up in a quiet village.
