Well I for one am really looking forward to Morcheeba on Tuesday night.
Is anyone else going? Anyone know what they play or how they do the Kurt Wagner and Slick Rick songs?
Morcheeba
This so qualifies as a girlfriend show (unlike, say, Burning Brides and Division of Laura Lee tonight) and, appropriately, I'll be there with my girlfriend.
I've seen Morcheeba once before and was impressed with their set. Could be worth the time to see again and hear some new songs.

are you thinking of Moloko?
Moloko started out as a portishead rip-off act then turned more pop.
Morceeba sound very different indeed from portishead, fool.

Portishead and Morcheeba are both british and have female singers.
There the similarities run out for me.
OH! I emailed you already……

thinking about it more, I guess Morcheeba and Portishead both get characterised as trip hop.
Portishead are slow and mellow and jazzy
Morcheeba are more groove funk based with a big slice of pop dance thrown in. They are much more upbeat.
Both bands live in the wake of massive attack. But it goes to show the depth of Massive attacks ability to influence so many and varied bands.
[This message has been edited by markie (edited 01-18-2003).]
Hi Jadetree I got your two emails and replied.
I still cant believe you think Morcheeba and portishead sound the same, I guess they all sound like radiohead as well?
