I'm with Kosmo here. Some things just hit a little too close to home. I can find nothing even slightly funny about the tragedy that took place at VT.

well, everything hits a little too close to home for someone or another.
but if we have to joke about something that most people dont think is funny, how about trying to limit it to 1 or 2 jokes, not a whole plethera.
