Yes, Midnight Oil - definitely one of the best live bands, that is for sure! Both times I saw them (1990) and then (when was it? - one of their last shows at the 9:30 Club - I am thinking 2001/2002) it was fantastic!
More bands from Australia (that I've not yet seen listed in this thread) - The Go-Betweens, Real Life and Ikon.
P.S. And I love INXS - so there. ;)
Cheers
DJ Medusa.
what song won't leave you the fuck alone(good or bad...
I just saw "Touching The Void" which is movie about mountain climbing. This one guy in the movie is on the verge of death and, much to his chagrin, has a song which he identifies as being a Boney M song stuck in his head. Much to my chagrin it has been stuck in my head now for a week. And I have never even really heard the song.

b/c my girlfriend won't stop singing it.
flawd, KSE and FATA are touring together with 36 Crazyfists, should be a blast!
i knew age of ruin covered the song but never got to hear it…and i don't listen to darkest hour that much besides on mix cds i created…but i think atreyu lost guitars on the new cd…but i still enjoy atreyu's you give love a bad name.
vansmack…it sounds better this time….
that jet songs drives me fuckin nuts. i wish they would crash their bus into nickelback's and both buses would roll off a bridge and explode killing both bands, three edolphins, 18 fish and a seahorse.
Has anyone else noticed that Flawd's writing has gotten better since school let out? [/QB]One second back at college after summer break, my vocabulary would change. F this, f that. It's crazy how I could turn it on and off. And I'm sure I said, "dude" a lot more too. ;)
"You say she's just a friend, you say she's just a friend, oh baby, YOU got what I neeeeeed" has been in my head for a few days. Dunno where that invasion came from.
Couple years ago, for weeks on end, I couldn't get No Doubt's song, "Hey baby, hey baby, hey! Girls say, Boys say" outta my head. Argh - painful then, painful to type that verse now.
oh and sonick - muzak version? that is overkill.
Off subject but a sub topic within this thread, bands from Down Under that I like that haven't already been listed:
Bailter Space
The Absolutes
The Lucksmiths
Decoder Ring
The Scientists (Are they from DU? I might be upside down.)
I'm still trying to make up my mind on Tumbleweed. Need to hear more.
Oh, and yes, the fabulous Nick Cave is from Australia but not necessarily The Bad Seeds. I know that Blixa Bargeld is from Germany and not even with them anymore since he's concentrating on EN.

look, when we got this advance CD at my work last year. WELL before it was on any radio station or anything like that. I heard this song and thought…."this sounds like the theme song to some bad TV show" like i thought it was going to be the theme to the 21st century version of 21 Jumpstreet.
whatever, this song is played more often than that Nelly song was 2 years ago.
its a crappy song. a crappy band. and they just comfirm that Austrailia and New Zealand (whichever one they are from) dont put out very many good bands. I cant think of one (INXS and Midnight Oil are NOT good bands and neither are the Datsuns or Silverchair).
the weatherbug theme song is Jet? how odd.
Yes, The Scientists are from Perth, Western Australia.
