Did Dupek Have A Cow?

It seems that Dupek (Surly) deleted all his posts. Some good threads started by him (â??What Are You Listening to Right Now?â? â??What You Be Readinâ???â?) have also vanished.

What gives?
Oh, no!!! :(

Poor guy must be feeling really bad right about now. This happens quite a bit in cyberspace. Someone, gets depressed and falls into self-loathing. Sometimes it happens when a band breaks up. Then they go and remove all traces of their existance by deleting all of their posts, uploads and profiles. Always a very sad occassion, especially since that person is always liked much more than they realize. Plus they wipe out a whole lot of good history.

Dupek, come baaaaccckkkk…. We still love you!

Damn, and here I was being very happy that the editing time limit had been removed.
maybe he got tired of ignoring and hating me.
Or perhaps someone comes to the realization that there are more productive things to do with ones time than to waste it all on the internet.

Someday maybe I'll come to that realization.

More productive things to do like deleting each and every post he ever made? How productive!
Who's gonna re-start those threads?????

Get on it ye elder folk…
Dupek have a cow????? That's moos to me!
If he's in search of a job perhaps he's erasing all his online footprints which a future employer may think reflect negatively on him.
…err, wouldn't that be hoof prints??
Did Hoya call him a 'Nazi' again?
Didn't he use to post as Bombay Doors as well? if that was the case, I think that username is still active.

Imagine, even the US Government is starting to consider climate change seriously and a hispanic guy is running for president in the Democrats' primaries. Not good news for Dupek.
Just a wild thought, but if he thought he was wrongly temrinated, but they thought he wasted a lot of time at work on message boards, he might have deleted any evidence.

Maybe we should delete this thread too.

Or maybe he was just being Dupek….
Dupek and I had our differences at one time, but overall I thought he was good people. If he's really gone, that is a shame.
jag– people actually do this frequently?

dupek was anonymous, right? so there's no real need to "erase his footprints" … how the hell would his employers figure out it was him?

how do you delete/rename posts like he was doing?
Man, I was thinking the same thing.

If it's true, than I really don't waste as much time online as I thought…

Maybe he used his work email to register for the board?

Or certainly they could have a log of websites visited, and if he was constantly at this site…

I once dated someone who worked in human resources at a company part of whose job it was to confront workers with evidence that they had been visiting inappropriate websites at work and consequently fire their asses.
i think the work email would really be the only way, and they'd really have to be digging … i guess they could do some kind of a key-logging thing to see the name you were signing in with, and then painstakingly sift through this byzantine message board for his posts, but that seems highly unlikely
Hoya waxed philosphical with…

(1) Ever heard of an IP Address?

(2) Maybe they know him and can relate facts he revealed about himself on this board, relate those with times the posts were made and prove that he posted often while at work?

(3) Maybe they use internet monitoring software at his work?

I could go on and on….
if it mattered enough, i'm sure they could spend the time and figure it out, but it just seems improbable
This is Dupek we're talking about - is anything improbable?
