Come help me celebrate my birthday with a few drinks at Chief Ike's (Columbia Road in Adams Morgan). If the weather's nice we'll sit outside on the lovely outdoor patio and watch the sun set.
There's also a friend's band playing there, a little later in the evening. They're called the Bolophonics. Rumor has it they sound like early 90's brit dance drone-pop a la Happy Monday's, Stone Roses, and Wedding Present. They have also been described as a mix between Joy Division and Dinosaur Junior, with a dance feel incorporated into their rhythms. The guitar is said by some accounts to be laden with sweet pop drone.
