breasts (this is serious)

a gf and i suggested that the reason some (many?) males like breasts so much is b/c they were breast-fed. but that didnt explain why females who were also breast-fed did not share the same fixation. is it b/c the female lacking testoterone somehow makes this trait lie dormant?

theories? either your own or that you've read?

such a strong constant factor in life but so rarely pondered or discussed.

i also heard once that in primeval days men, unbeknownst to themselves of course, found breasts a visual substitute for the round shape of a womans ass which they were naturally attracted to as a survival signal [hip size and the ability to bear offspring].

I was breast fed.

Breast size was always pretty low on my priority list. Shape of breast, as well as details pertaining to nipple and areola, have always been more interesting to me than actual breast size.

I think women notice other women's breast, they're just not fixated on body parts in general, male or female, the way many men are.

Heh. Actually Freud's theory was that an oral fixation develops in people who *weren't* breast-fed, or were weaned too early, and so they never quite get over their early breast-feeding desires. I've often wondered how this is manifested in women too.

It kind of makes sense… the guys I've known who are totally obsessed with breasts, almost to the exclusion of all else – they always seem like big overgrown babies.

I think also there's a huge cultural element as well. Believe it or not in some cultures breasts aren't particularly sexual. I think in our culture they've become a big deal because they're hidden away and treated as something exotic. One might even go so far as to say that America has become one big baby-culture of people who never grow to full maturity, and thus the national breast fixation. I want my war AND low taxes, waaaah!!!

In parts of the Arab world guys get the same way Americans do about breasts, at seeing a rare glimpse of a woman's ankle.

And finally, I do think there's something to the chest-butt theory too. We are programmed to lust after dual bulbous lobes of flesh.

my moms a German so i would commonly see her topless/nude throughout my life even today [ugh, shes 63 now] so not hidden away from me, yet i am a boobman. but not to the exclusion of the hey-na-noo-na-noo i in fact luv dining at the Y. i agree yes this is a big-baby culture FOR SURE. i loved your "waaahhh!" btw
