Any fans of the original movie?
Anyone see and have thoughts of the sequel (without giving away anything)?

I thought the original was alright. Basically it's a 2 hour conversation. I'm curious about the sequel.

I was not a fan of the first movie. I thought Ethan Hawke was such a terrible actor, it really made it impossible for me to enjoy. That said, the sequel has gotten really amazing reviews – in aggregate, even better than Spidey! It may be worth a revisit, especially as I've aged along with the characters.

I have the original on video. I watched it for the Nth time last night, and C for the first (or second?) time.
It was interesting in how I identfied with the characters so much more when it came out than now. Now they just seemed like a couple of cute twentysomethings babbling endlessly as if they were smarter than everyone else, when in reality they're not.

I found Ehtan Hawke's character to be nearly unbearable for a good part of the film, but I warmed up to him a little tiny bit as the movie progressed…I tend to agree with Rhett's opinion of the tone of their conversation…
I want to see the sequel to find out what happens, though.

I saw Before Sunrise about 7 years ago, watched it again about 3 years ago and never expected a sequel. So I was surprised when I started seeing posters all over downtown for it.

Seeing as I believe actors and actresses rarely resemble real life, I don't usually drool over them. I make exceptions though. Those two would be Delpy and Kidman, and maybe Keener.

I once dated a Keener lookalike, but ended up marrying someone who more resembles the other actress in Being John Malkovich.
Maybe you can answer this riddle: My wife was trying to remember the name of some movie she saw that Julie Delpy was in that involved a bank robbery. Any ideas?

I love both films, but I'm sure you could have guessed that. Before Sunset takes place in real time and has lovely sequences of discussions while strolling through Paris. The characters are struggling with more up-to-date issues so you might enjoy it more. (I haven't seen Before Sunrise since it came out so when I watch it again, I will be curious to see if the topics still resonate.) Anyway, in Before Sunset, the scene in the car (and I won't say more than that) is particularly good. Julie Delpy is gorgeous. Ethan Hawke looks thin and sickly.
