It must be frustrating as a Red Sox fan to deal with history
as a red sox fan…we forget each year as it happens…..it gives us more time to root for the Bruins.

ggw is going to be very disappointed when he reads this thread and sees that it's about baseball, and not me…
I'm a big american league fan, but i still think the cardinals will win it all this year.
BTW Rhett, was I right about the Orioles this season ;) ?
Originally posted by keithstg:well they have not been playing all that well lately, and both rolen and carpenters injuries look to be more serious than previously thought, and kline may be out for the playoffs, not exactly the best time for it to happen

Ankiel's curve looks better than it did before the injury

Question to National League baseball fans…
Who deserves the NL Cy Young?
Randy Johnson and Ben Sheets are the best pitchers in the NL, win-loss records be damned.

Originally posted by pollard:Schmidt was in the driver seat then lost it, Johnson blew it the other night against Colorado. I just don't see how you can't give it to Clemens at 18-4 and a good ERA. That stadium is very hard to pitch in also. And the fact he's 42 years old. Just give him one more before he retires.

Originally posted by Rhett Miller:Agreed, but unfortunately baseball writers seem preoccupied with win-loss records and a team's playoff chances. Clemens will probably win the Cy because of those two factors. Seems similar to what happened with Pat Hentgen and Andy Pettite in the mid 90's (96 I think), except then Hentgen won the Cy.
