if you're looking for a low-key beer drinking place:

if you can get into the "brewer's lounge" or whatever at district chophouse, that's always a good option … fado is usually solid … RFD has great beer, no atmosphere … clyde's has a bunch of bars, and that's right next to the phone booth

a lot of the chinese places around there have great happy hour deals on drinks, matchbox has a decent happy hour but it's always slammed … ella's wood fired pizza is decent too, but often really busy (is the free pizza happy hour only on fridays?)
I like Matchbox, for its beer and pizza.
hmmm, how about the RNR Bar? anyone been there before?
The phone booth? Do people other than sports reporters actually say that?
Fado is as much Irish as McDonalds is Scottish.
Austin Grill is decent for margaritas and chips.

I just heard the only decent Irish bar in DC closed down, i was planning on going in March, oh well
Health Dept finally shut that place down?
stay away from that place that seems to be so proud of their on-site, vat brewed five choices of tapped tastebud bland. forgot the name of it, but i think it has some sort of german or bavarian chime to the "chain restaurant charm." it might be on corner of eighth and f.
okie.

thanks friends. we picked Clydes cause of its close proximity. just wanted a place to meet to exchange some tickets and a beer.

go Bruins! ;)

I guess they just couldnt compete anymore with Disney of Ireland across the street
hang on, nanny o'brien's is shut down??
yes, last week, my buddy was there on the last night and told me about it
At the risk of living up to my name, there's a Coyote Ugly not far at all!
Hooters.
Don't, er, knock Hooters for cheap beer.

I had read (washington post?) that Nanny's was being "updated" by the owners of Bedrock Billiards.
My habit is to go to Zola when I'm down there because they serve lobster rolls at the bar
I'm pretty sure Coyote Ugly closed.
