930 vs. Recher- how do they compare??

what shows do you go to? i'm sure staph can enlighten everyone as to the rationale (should be obvious-moshing or at band's request), but i would think that most shows at 930 do not have a barrier (same with recher), unless you consider the stage being 4 feet (or so) above ground to be a barrier.

The barricade is used if the artist requests it.
a couple years ago, pre-sonar/rams head live, the recher actually got a lot of decent bands there (it wasnt on the level of the 9:30 club, but when you live near towson)…..now, it mainly metal bands and stuff like that
Living in the Baltimore area, I go to the Recher to save a drive to DC. It's been a good venue as I've seen the White Stripes, BRMC, Interpol, Elliott Smith and others there, but it's only as good as the act performing.
