Priestess roll call

Thursday night at the Black Cat back room is Priestess, a new metal-ish band, whose debut album rocks like a bastard and is one of the best records this year.

If you like Louder Than Love-era Soundgarden or Monster Magnet, this show will be a real treat and totally worth eight bucks. Plus, Wooly Mammoth is opening and I've always enjoyed them.

i'll be there, though i have to say that priestess doesn't sound like monster magnet at all. it's good catchy hard rock, sort of like thin lizzy without the diversity and stellar songwriting.
