So I'm looking forward to my first Placebo concert experience tonight… Who else is going?
Placebo
I'm going. and also very much looking forward to it. I'm surprised it hasn't sold out.
Not for me….
I really just think the new album is terribly bland and conceited.
Have fun though…. Let us know if they play lots of songs from the first two albums, then I might be regretful.

I've never heard them but their name reminds me of childbirth.

I imagine childbirth to be no less painful than having to listen all the way through their current album.
I will be coming to 930 for the first time in like a month tonight!! Cant wait, i have never seen Placebo but they are one of my favourites. Hopefully they will play plenty of old stuff, thier new album has only half grown on me….
I'll be there!
i'll agree w/ sonickteam2, half of the album i like…i hope they'll sing few songs from the first album…however, it will be a refreshing event, bringing a breath of home, memories, youth!

This will be my second time seeing Placebo, and they are one of my faves. Yes, their new album is very â??conceitedâ?. That is one of the reasons I love them. Purely gratuitous arrogance!

Perhaps conceited wasnt a good choice of vocabulary….
Perhaps bland and comfortable…. Is it me of do Placebo use the same rhymes in all their songs?
Either way the current album doesnt go anywhere the last three had already been.

Which makes me wonder why they get so much good press for this album?
I am beginning to think most British bands shouldnt be alowed to make more than three albums……
Radiohead and blur would also fit nicely into that.

I agree that the current album isn't as good as the rest. But it is still good music.
(BTW: I also stand up for Saturday Night Live we everyone bashes the show. Nostalgia, I guess.)

"But I think his later records are alright"
"yeah, they may be alright, but inside you know they're just… shite"

I hope they play old stuff as well but nothing will top their 1st (?) show at 9:30 – the one with the dreadful & departed Stabbing Westward and some other act I've blocked out. They played almost all of the first album. Our Lady of the Flowers was crushingly beautiful.
I certainly hope the crowd is better than last time – nothing but rude, pogoing Eurotrash and an unfortunate goth-lite Lollipop Kid contingent.

the first time the band was great but the crowd was much worse than the second time…..
"dude is that guy, like, gay"
"dude, he is gay"
DUDE YOU'RE GAY"
fucking genius stabbing westward fans…. As if stabbing westward was not a gay enough band name anyway.
