Hey, we need one. I hardly see any of you anymore. Much less get CD reviews from any of you. (cough cough). Maybe i need to go to more shows that don't involve Exit Clov or BigYawn, eh? I'll be at the Hives, if anyone cares.
Seriously, Kosmo, can we talk to Seth about this?

Care to share who the lucky artist was? Or what you thought?
On a side note, i just bought a book called the Great Indie discogrophy, 1500 pages of allmusic type stuff on indie bands. Awesome book. It is the second edition, and in the back they list bands that didn't make the cut from the first edition. Mostly cause there are now books on Metal and Electronic that already cover those bands. Well, apparently relevance was also an issue, cause at the end of that list of cut-outs, was The Waterboys. I thought of you instantly. :p

I bought "Finally woken" by Jem.
Not bad…not "life altering" but very listenable….my review is this.
If Dido and David Gray had a baby it would be Jem. This new artist from Cardiff, Wales, has the voice and lyrical style of Dido and adds the electronica touches of David Gray. The result is an easy listening album that one needs not skip through the tracks to find a favorite because they are all equally enjoyable.

I saw that one in the $2 section at Soundgarden, but passed on it. Passed on her Iota show, too. The Dido references are enough to put me off.

We haven't reviewed the album yet, but it's ok. The first single was quite catchy actually, though I have forgotten the name of it.

Jem is very cool. Saw her at Fletchers not too long ago. good performer. beautiful British chickie (and there's not many)
DJ Adam Freeland helped produced the album. If you know who that is, you can figure why the beats are nice.
