presale starts today on www.lizphair.com
Liz Phair at 930 - Aug 16th
Man, I so cannot decide if I want to go to this show. I've heard such horrible things about the new album, and I'll be so pissed if she doesn't do much Exile stuff. Friends want to go, but I just dunno……….
I'm torn between Liz Phair and Bob Mould at Fletcher's the same night…I just can't decide…..

ahhhhh GGW, Bob is much more your type, ehhh? And your favourite sexual manouver?
i'll be there for the co-headliner jason mraz… and the opener, sondre lerche. both AMAZING up and coming singer-songwriters.
I like both of their music, just for different reasons. Just because I listen to Bob does not mean I'm gay.

i wish sondre lerche would do a solo show at iota. i have no desire to see liz phair and as far as i know, this is one of the few times, if not the only time, sondre lerche has been in dc.

These days it could be a Blowoff d.j. kinda thing. Or is he going solo, doing Mould and Sugar songs, with some electric guitar thrown in (he did this show at the Birchmere a while back, and it was KICK ASS).

You could probably count on 3/4 of the show solo acoustic, probably 1/4 electric. He may do a couple of songs with backing tracks (the Modulate ones), but by and large, it will just be him and his guitar. If it's anything like the show he played in Philly last year at the North Star, it will be VERY kick ass.
Ugh. I just put it out there to my concert-going posse about the Mould/Phair decision. As you might imagine, the majority of my posse is men, and the only response I'm getting thus far is "Liz is hotter."
Geez. Obviously they're all straight men as well. That's it, I'm going to start choosing shows based on the "hot factor" to see how the guys like it….
So Thirsty, how 'hot' are the Nighties?
;)
