Kosmette is thinking about getting a USB Flash drive so she can move data back and forth from work. However, at work it's a Windoze machine and home it's a MAC running 0SX. While most devices support both Windoze and 0SX do they work on both platforms at the same time. Anyone had experience with this?
USB Flash Drives
mrs. bede uses a flash stick interchangeably from her windows comp at work and the mac at home with no problems.

kosmo, most of them are universal and you should have no problems.

Both the PC and the Mac have MSOffice on them, but oftentimes the formatting is thrown off. For Word documents, that's no problem. For Excel documents, it can be a big headache.

while digging a little on the sandisk site for info, it mentioned that the flash drive must be formated MSDOS which i assume means your limited to file names of 8.3 length?
Try the Lexar Jumpdrive. One Gig will cost around $85 at most. I use one for work on a PC and at home with Mac OS. I have no problem going back and forth. No drivers needed. Just plug it in. USB 2.0 for fast transfer and the protective cap over the USB plug is incorporated into a nice rubber gasket that fits around the whole drive and offers some shock protection. Small enough to fit on a keychain.
Most flash drives now don't require any formatting
